The World Economic Forum in Davos has officially begun, attended by more than 40 heads of state and government. The poor economic growth in the Eurozone, the economic slowdown in China as well as global warming topped the agenda of the Swiss conference.
Mr Maciej Bukowski, PhD, chairman of the Warsaw Institute for Economic Studies, compared Davos to an elite club. – Most of those who participate in this event are the representatives of the world of global business and politics. The meetings in Davos, however, are more about building and maintaining relations than they are about making key decisions – the guest of the PR24 programme stated.
The Polish delegation in Davos includes, inter alia, Mr Andrzej Klesyk, chairman of PZU, Mr Andrzej Krawiec, chairman of Orlen, and Mr Aleksander Kwaśniewski, the former President of the Republic of Poland. The government, on the other hand, is represented by Mr Mateusz Szczurek, the minister of finance.
