‘Since the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century, Turkey and Russia fought each other 11 times, being in a state of war for a total of fifty years. These countries, both historically and nowadays, have very little in common’, stated Adam Balcer in the interview for Radio Poland 24.
On Tuesday, 9 August 2016, the presidents of Russia and Turkey – Vladimir Putin and Recep Erdogan, met in St. Petersburg. Can this meeting be a sign of a new Turkish-Russian alliance?
