‘Since Wednesday, 24 August, Turkey has conducted the ‘Euphrates Shield’ military operation on the territory of Syria. The aim of the attacks is the, so-called, Islamic State. However, that is not the only reason for launching the operation’, comments Adam Balcer for Radio Poland.
‘In the war fought on the territory of Syria the principle that the enemy of my enemy is my friend does not apply. After all, the Kurds fight jihadists, what does not exclude them from being a target of the Turkish attacks. The main objective of President Erdogan and his staff is to push ISIS combatants as far away from their own borders as possible. In this matter they can also rely on the help of the US.
