Brexit and economy

As assessed by Ignacy Morawski in Polskie Radio 24, the exit of the United Kingdom from the European Union will not result in a global crisis, such as the one that took place after the collapse of Lehman Brothers Bank in 2008.

‘Even though the decision is disastrous for the future of Europe, it will not bring about tragic economic scenarios’ he comments. ‘The UK’s GDP constitutes 3 percent of the world production, while the United States GDP amounts to 25 percent. An exit from the EU is not the same as a financial crisis’, adds the expert.

The economist pointed out, however, that Brexit entails some negative results. ‘Companies operating in the UK must gear up for some uncertainty’, he noted. ‘Today the risk of global recession is not higher than yesterday’, nonetheless stressed out Ignacy Morawski.
