The war in Syria has become decentralised

It is the deadliest conflict in several decades, a conflict that brings deaths of five thousand people every month. It also rendered several million people homeless and forced them to flee their country. It is the largest humanitarian catastrophe since the end of World War II. Adam Balcer talks about the war in Syria in an interview with the RDC Radio.

In the interview, a WiseEuropa expert described the biggest differences between two fighting sides – Bashar al-Assad regime and the Sunni, supported also by the Western countries. He stressed that the principle that the enemy of my enemy is my friend does not always apply in the Syrian war. There are different tactical alliances, in which one organization cooperates with someone in one region, and in another actively fights them. This war has become decentralized. The victims still need help.

The whole interview with Adam Balcer, manager of Eurazja project in WiseEuropa, was aired in the broadcast ‘Popołudniu w RDC’ on 18 August 2016.
