However, it is not only the amount of savings that is worth noticing, but also the method of saving itself. According to the article in Rzeczpospolita, bank deposits constitute 58% of savings and currency in circulation nearly 14%. Over 11% is allocated to the Open Pension Funds (OFE). Voluntarily, the Poles invested in the capital market only 17% of their savings, 9% of which they put into investment funds and 5% in unit-linked life insurance. The shares of listed companies held by individual investors constitute another 3%, with only 1% allocated to Treasury bonds.
